Meteors, transits in autumn skies
The annual Orionid meteor shower, which will peak on the morning
of Oct. 21-22. To view the Orionids, look high in the eastern
sky after midnight on both of these dates. You may get to see
well over 25 meteors per hour. The moon will be near new on these dates.

The other meteor shower is the Leonids, which will
peak on the evening of Nov. 18 at 8:45 p.m. PST.
