Bush Joke @Thursday, December 28, 2000 - 23:14:21 Bush and Cheney are having lunch at a diner near the White House. Cheney orders the "Heart-Healthy" salad. Bush leans over to the waitress and says "Honey, could I have a quickie?" She's horrified! She says, "Mr. President, I thought your administration would bring a new era of moral rectitude to the White House. Now I see I was wrong and I'm sorry I voted for you," and she marches off. There were many Santas involved and I would like to thank all of them. The cooliest thing, I saw a Tiger on my way home from my folks. This game preserve place has animals. Anyway this tiger was in a pen very close to the road, what an amazing animal. It was huge, I would love to stop by and see it up close. I have had miserable cold for the past 4-5 days plus allergies from a real tree and the wacky heat from a wood stove. I had sommuch fun being with my family and off this damn PC. I switched over it the dreaded Internet Explorer. My Netscape which I have used since version 1.1 up through 4.73 served me well. I wrote so many pages in Netscape Composer. The main reason is the 6.0 is poopy and 4.73 locks up and crashes way too much. I blame Netscape and AOL but also Microsoft. I doubt I will delete 4.73 off my machine, but I will primarly use IE 5.5 I did the difficult task of importing and arranging my bookmarks. Mega lunch post @Wednesday, December 20, 2000 - 14:09:48 - tu I realized the other day I haven't done much of the weblog chatty crap stuff. So here is some boring crap about me... I did get that Sony Wega TV last friday. Its truely the best picture I have ever seen. It has S-video and component video inputs. The screen is extremely flat and of course its a Trinitron so its very sharp bright and has wonderful color. The TV shows off my horrible adelphia cable reception, just aweful. Some channels come in ok but most look really bad and the TV is so sharp it really shows how poor the quality is. DVDs are amazing, it has a trick were it turns tv into a wide 16x9 screen. I have the center channel sound running thru the TV (still don't have a center channel) The funny thing is of course I haven't had time to just sit down and watch an entire movie yet. Watched a couple Junkyard War shows last night. My wife even seemed to enjoy the show. They were themake a portable bridge and device to fire a rugby football. One of the teams built an Air Cannon very similar to the type that fire potatoes. I love it when they build things that explode or shoot something. Played some Weapons Factory Arena last night. I noticed most of the time I have the highest ping time number 200-350 ms ping time. That isn't a bad thing, I guess most everyone else is such a nut about it they have high speed access. I have been thinking about all the empty servers out there I could get a better ping time on. I like most people goto a server that has people on it and a descent ping time. The other thing I noticed was I voted on the map 6 or 7 times and that map was chosen, I guess nobody else on at the time bothered to or knows how to do the map vote option. It was fun because I never had to play a map I didn't like. I am going to loose way to much sleep over this one. The Oops List a list of military accidents involving nuclear weapons. This is all pretty messy, split votes, split country, split courts. This is what I wished actually, a Lame Duck Republican President heading into a possible recession. The former Governor of New York threw out that silly idea of stealing 3 Republicans. Just silly. I really do believe Gore got more votes in Florida, the odds were against him after he conceded that morning. The court's unsigned opinion said seven justices agreed that there were constitutional problems with the recount ordered by the Florida court, but that they disagreed on the remedy. ``It is obvious that the recount cannot be conducted in compliance with the requirements of equal protection and due process without substantial additional work,'' the court said. But the court said that because Florida lawmakers intended in effect to complete the choosing of electors by Dec. 12 an order requiring a new recount ``could not be part of an appropriate'' remedy. The court issued its ruling in an unsigned opinion. Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist and Justices Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas went further in a separate opinion, saying the Florida Supreme Court also violated the Constitution and federal law in ordering the recount.
