My 128 meg DIMM is toast, we swapped in a 64 for now. My networking problem is also fixed. I was getting 4/5k downloads instead of 40-50k. I remembered that I installed an optimized DUN registry thingy. I reset the settings to default and I am back up to 40-50k without having to reinstall windows.

5000 year old guide to happiness? @Monday, June 26, 2000 - 07:21:48 - tu
I finally got around to finishing Gilgamesh in the end they mention happiness.

'Gilgamesh, where are you hurrying to?
You will never find that life for which you are looking.
When the gods created man they allotted to him death,
but life they retained in thier own keeping.
As for you Gilgamesh, fill your belly with good things;
day and night, night and day, dance and be merry, feast and rejoice.
Let your clothes be fresh, bathe yourself in water,
cherish the little child that holds your hand,
and make your wife happy in your embrace;
for this too is the lot of man.'

I was trying to clean some recent pen ink off our vinyl couch. I was scrubbing away at it near a fold in the material. Wham, I felt something go into my finger, it really hurt and I pulled my hand away. Only my finger doesn't pull away, I must have gotten it hooked on some kinda staple. So I panic a little, I pull really hard, my hand comes free.
I look at my finger trying to figuire out why it hurts so much. What do I see?
Half a pin, the other half is still in my finger.
I had like a half an inch of the pin in my finger. I think it stopped going in when it hit the bone. It went in at like a 20 degree angle, thats how I was able to get half of it into my finger. My wife is trying to figuire out whats going on, for some reason I am a bit cranky. I put it on ice for about an hour. I had a tetnus shot a couple years ago so I should be all set.

Every other day or so i parouse through your page and I always learn something really cool. something that I probably would have never found
out on my own. and thats really cool. i like learning things, I think it makes me a better person. maybe it isnt so useless after all.

Glad to here, sometimes I wonder if I am just amusing myself. One of the major reasons for this page is some of my friends and family were getting tired of all the spam like email I would send them on various odd ball subjects.

Gladiator @Saturday, June 3, 2000 - 23:03:11 - tu
I know most have already seen it, but I don't do the movie thing that often, it was worth it. As my boy might say Wow Wow. It's been a long time since I have seen a movie I have liked so much. It felt like an Epic type movie, it recreated a totally differ ant kind of world that sucks me in with a good story. Russell Crowe was also in L.A. Confidential that movie like this one was a story that was well told with great acting. I thought it was pretty funny they mention claudius and the actor from the BBC I C laudius series was the senator in Gladiator. Found this geocites Gladiator page Oliver Reed died during the making of the movie. I heard they did some CG replacement in some of his scenes I didn't notice any of them.

Very odd meteorite found in Canada.
Then I got this in the mail from NASA.
On January 18, 2000, a "small" 200 metric ton asteroid streaked across the skies of western Canada and exploded in the atmosphere. Now, scientists have recovered fragments of the space rock and discovered that they are members of a rare class of mete orites possibly containing amino acids and other organic compounds.
