I try to run away from the toys, but I can't...

Here are somemore CD players that can do the CDR (650 megs) mp3 thing. Not bad considering these go for the same price as the most basic 16-32meg player.

When I win the lottery I will buy both these toys.
Gee TU didn't you just go on about not buying more crap?
True I did, and I don't plan on buying these item, but they are still fun to pickout.

From looking at reviews and pricing out cameras this one seems

We just got back from a three day retreat to my folks house. I stayed away from the keyboard and the coffee. I am feeling a heck of alot more human than I have in a long time. This should reflect some changes in the site. I am thinking fewer posts, screw the stats. I removed the counter off the page, I just don't care about that kinda of stuff anymore. The site is gonna be more about me less on the computer rat race, maybe more science. we shall see.

I hope people realize if MS is broken off into 3 parts the IE p art might actually have to make money from its browser. I do have IE and I even open it sometimes. I don't choose to run it. I work for a company that does not run NT we do linux, we are all old time Netscape guys, we run apache web servers and we don't support frontpage/IE html specific extentions.

This week has gone by pretty quickly, I am really looking forward to the three day weekend. Rebuilt a 200 mhz machine to replace a 133, its scary but it seems faster that a couple of the 400mhz machines in the office. You gotta love windows. I was messing around with the video cards, its amazing how bad some cards really are.
I would like to get a better motherboard, mine is not junk its just evil, the AGP card I had in it didn't work correctly one of the two usb ports has never worked, and I always seem to have trouble with drivers. I would like a ATX socket 7 board with 5-6 PCI slots 4X AGP Ultra DMA 66 and 4 100mhz DIMM sockets, not that I really need it.

Why do we buy the things we do? why must I get that cd or that article of clothing. I read something on Girl Hackers page, and it got me thinking. Thats isn't a good thing, this late at night my mind can wander quite a bit. Its about toys and what we want or need in our lives. Most of these items wont make us a better person, we get convinced or convince ourselves we need them anyway. I am sure I will be giving this some more thought thats certain.

I just received a wonderful email from Jeremy about his Rhino Skin Shocksuit for his visor and a couple other products available. I am looking at getting the Otterbox 2000 a Review I will keep using the visor till I have some pocket change saved up for the repair. I played with a Palm IIIc the other day, its nice, but the extra 200 bucks could goto alot more important toys. Someone should make a military grade PDA capable of withstanding the abuse, I am sure they would also have a military price tag too.

I found out how fragile a Handspring Visor is today. My wife accidently knocked the visor off a table this morning. Three feet and it was in its cover and leather case. The bottom right hand corner has several cracks in it, and the skin doesn't seem to fu nction on the bottom half of the screen. She was more upset than I was, I guess that what love is all about. The usenet articles I have read say its a 80-100 dollars to get it repaired.
I have found out if you try to open a beer bottle with a key and your finger, the finger being the softest part in the equation it will probably sustain the most damage.
I have no problem wishing my exwife a happy 29 years (oops 28, thanks sue. I have a hard time remembering how old I am.), I hope she has a wonderful day. I hope my Mother-In-Law has a wonderful birthday today too. She like me has to work today, of course she is getting paid like 2x as much for working ove r the weekend. I'd say I have learned quite a bit lately.

The computer gods have blessed my machine with 128 megs of ram (at work home has been for 5 months). I wont have to close anything ever again. I have to go home today to figu ire out which buttons on my HI FI receiver my boy has been messing with. I got some tips on playing my DVD Audio CD, I will give them a try. 3-4 cups of coffee and some techno and every is much clearer. I have had a heck of a time with my visor syncing up lately, mostly avantgo but also some other stuff. I think its that time of the month to reformat C drive and start from scratch.

Cool Stuff, I was reading about some of the new Sony Mavicas. I didn't like them too much they didn't do enough pixels. Well they have a 2.1 megapixel and a 1.3 mega pixel model out now. Sony cameras have been using floppies for awhile, well they have a M emory stick adapter for their new line of digital cameras. The sticks are 32 and 16 megs in size. Of course a simpler idea would be to use a usb port like alot of the newer cameras are using.
How about a 20 GB USB external hard drive. Just think of the possibilities with something like that (offsite backup etc). HP has a 10X CDR writer, thats really fast a 5 minute 2X cd would only take 1 minute. Emachines has eSlate a $1000 dollar notebook. Review 1 Review 2

Personal stuff, I just don't have alot to write about, I consider my life to be pretty boring. I get up goto work, go home and goto sleep. I get to spend time with my wife and kids, but that nothing that I would consider newsworth. I read alot of weblogs, and I am amazed at what crazed and busy live some people lead. I got my Linkslut newsletter today. The Breast Chronicles seems to be very popular I cant imagine why. I have pgp email working so if you wa nna send me secrets look up Ronald Goff on the MIT PGP servers to find my public key. My 6 month old daughter is having a tough time, she is cutting her first tooth and isn't a happy camper. I am waiting patiently for the new XTC cd, it will be out on th e 23rd. I have the big 29 coming up in a month, I suppose I should be worried, going gray and turning 29. I'm not, and I can always dye my hair blue if I wanted to. I was watching the simpsons and one of the smaller jokes kinda bugged the crap out of me. Marge was talking about how she puts extra meat juice into Lisa's vegetarian meals. I know its a joke but still, I would flip out if some pulled some kinda crap like that on me.

Radio, Radio @Saturday, May 13, 2000 - 17:29:46 - tu
I was playing with my shortwave radio this afternoon. This is when I realized I had developed this distrust of christian religion in part due to the stuff they beam 24 hours a day on 10-15 differant frequencies. They are on there day preaching and preachi ng trying converted the world. After being an SWL for a long time looking for english station this stuff get old really quickly. Growing up being a shortwave listener I was exsposed to a wide variety of news scources, sorta like the internet is now.

Very Cool Site
Weblog Color Wheel
I have been looking for my gang colors.
I am Blue Duh! = (INFP)
Emode Color Test
You're BLUE; the most soothing color in the spectrum. The color of a clear summer sky, or a deep, reflective ocean. Blue has traditionally symbolized trust, solitude, and loyalty. You are most likely a contemplative person who values time spe nt alone. When it comes to friends, you would rather connect deeply with a few people than have a bunch of loose acquaintances. You probably have a calming presence that attracts people to you. Cool and collected, you rarely overreact. Instead, you think things through before coming to a decision. Your level-headed and thoughtful approach is patently blue.

wow @Friday, May 12, 2000 - 18:13:24 - tu
This friday just sorta snuck up on me. The older I get, the older I feel. Listened to the Baz Luhrmann song, Everybody's Free To Wear Sunscreen. I guess not being a radio type I missed out on the song. Now I see why the Yoda sunscreen song is so funny no w. I like the attitude the song conveys, I think too many people worry to much about stuff that they can't change. I read some of these kids weblogs and I just feel so bad for them, they have to put up with all the high school crap. I mean for me after hi gh school life was a breeze, it was the worst 4 years of my life. It shouldn't have to be that way. I was wondering what webcams are being used on the weblogs,
I am thinking of getting some kinda USB webcam at some point in time.
I have been using the Random Weblog Link along with the Linksluts one.

Also watched Super Cop 2 starring Michelle Yeoh. I really enjoyed the movie, and its nice to see such a strong female lead role.

claiming this is some kinda weblog. So I will add some personal stuff from time to time here.
I actually got around to making some bread the other day. It's alot of fun and it doesn't take much time, I am surprised more people don't do it. I survived, home alone with 2 under 2 years old for over 8 hours (I surprise myself sometimes). Did the buzzcut thing again, I do it every month or so lately. I figuire I am married, its very easy to do and my wife probably wont divorce me over it. After I did my hai r, I did a simple trim of the boys, and my wife came home and actually like it. I cleaned out a ton of crap on my visor, its running alot faster with 4 megs free out of 8. I was read this Atheist Manafesto today, pretty interesting stuff.

The stoplight on the corner buzzes when it is safe to cross the street. I was crossing with an intellectually challenged co-worker of mine, when she asked if I knew what the buzzer was for. I explained that it signals to blind people when the light is re d. She responded, appalled, "What on earth are blind people doing driving?"

I live in a semi-rural area. We recently had a new neighbor call the local township administrative office to request the removal of the Deer Crossing sign on our road. The reason: Many deer were being hit by cars and he no longer wanted them to cross there.
