I am not a big fan of polls. I think we don't need them, we will find out soon enough.
I did and do feel Clinton was way to much into polls etc, I don't see anyone doing that lately.
ThisRepublican upset with zogby polls.
They show only a 1 point lead by Bush.
( Not counting any possible nader defections or margins of error.)
Several Polls current polls.
I doubt alot of polled people are really actually likely voters.

WFA afterthoughts @Monday, October 30, 2000 - 13:39:16 - tu
I don't want anyone to get the impression I am some kind of quake god. I am a good player on
an ok machine with a poor internet connection. I get killed and my score averages somewhere
in the middle most of the time on the level scores. Scores don't really match up very well in
WFA, its based on the Q3 source code, they can't do much until Id releases more info on it.
I have been considering a second line and modem, shotgunning two 56k modems, my ping
time and downloads would improve greatly, I don't need a T1 connection, and I am sure that
would not be a good thing for me. I play, I have fun, I would like to not screw up something
for my team and have the most flag captures. The craziest thing is how wound up my brain
gets thinking of a dozen plus things during game. I need a few hours to turn off all brain
chemistry, its like drinking 2 cups of coffee.

Listening to my XTC CD collection, 148 songs from 10 albums.
That doesn't count 2 of their earlier CDs I have that I don't care for asmuch. I can remember
picking up my first 2 XTC cds at a the Unversity of Maine in a used CD rack. I consider them
my favorite band, I enjoy the music, and I really love the lyrics in the song. I was so excited
to see them put out Apple Venus then Wasp Star.
Chalkhills is the best XTC site I know of.

It's all about team work baby. I played the assassin first time for an extend period of time.
Very cool, snuck up on 2 players and knifed em dead. very good for scouting too.
Flew around as recon too, very cool stuff. I played arial bomber and blasted a bunch
of people and even a sentry gun. I like to look for holes in my team and fill them. I
pretty much suck as a cyborg, I dunno more practice I guess. I did a great job
defending the flag as a marine and flamer. Didn't play the nurse even once tonight.
The teams had other holes that need filing. The last server I played on was I-Sucks
owned by tumorhead. 18.104.22.168 port 27960. I played 3 maps I haven't played yet
in the new 2.0 version. I hate snipers, and I suck as a sniper, but then I have seen
some sucky snipers. I love the servers with 14-or 15 on each side, especially when
they go into overtime. Nothing pisses me off more than a team of weenies who won't
stay and defend the flag.
I hate'em campers with fast ping times that hide in the shadows.

Snow. We have a couple of inches of snow up here in Maine. My folks live about a
half hour north, they could get up the six inches. The is crazy stuff.
My computer has been acting wacky, I removed and reinstalled communications.
That fixed a problem I was having with my TCP/IP Dailup. I turned off the machine
and turned it back on. The machine was doing the memory count and stopped at
640k. Damn, Damn, Damn. I took out and reset the 2 168 dimm chips. No joy, so
I swapped out one chip then the other in the memory slots. It worked!!!!
So one of my 64 meg chips is DOA, I think it is still under warranty I think I have
only hadit for like 6 months or so. I wonder if quake it playable on 64?
I unplugged everything both chips are now work, possibly a flakey motherboard? I really do hate this piece of crap FIC/VIA AT Motherboard. ATX next time, probably Asus / Athlon/Duron.

Bush on Heaven and Hell @Wednesday, October 25, 2000 - 21:17:53 - tu
Someone was concerned that I am fudging on Bush's personal beliefs who goto hell .
Here are a dozen or so articles about Bush his religion and people going to heaven or hell.
Bush on Heaven and Jews
Can Jews get into heaven ?
Slate article Go to Hell The Gospel according to George W.
Bush tried to clarify his stand on Jews, heaven
Salon article God is their Co-Pilot
Another slat article on Bush and his views comparing them to lieberman.
This Articles is the story I read somewhere else.
One doctrine of which Bush is certain is that heaven is open only to those who accept Jesus Christ He recalled discussing the topic with his mother, former first lady Barbara Bush, who disagreed and called The Rev. Billy Graham, a family friend.
"Billy came on the line and ... said, 'Look, I happen to agree with what George says about the interpretation of the New Testament, but I want to remind both of you to never play God,' " said Bush Bush retains his belief that non-Christians cannot go to heaven, but it is merely a "personal opinion."
Graham saved Bush in Maine.
People have alot of concern about the secret group he joined at college.
Skulls in the Closet
Found an old article on GW trying to shutdown an anti Bush site.
His famous quote There ought to be limits to freedom
Another old one. An odd quote from GW.
I want you to know, Glen, that what I say publicly about gay people doesn't pertain to you.

I gotta dig up that GW Bush story I think it was a salon about people going to hell or
being saved by jesus.

finished another Heinlein. I am down to one unread book of his. Farnham's Freehold is just
another one of those books that makes you think. I still think its the human realtionships that
heinlein portrays that really drive his stories. I have only read one of his books I would consider a poor read. I don't know alot people that read alot anymore, it was something I picked up from my parents. They would read to me and my brother, my dad would read to us in the morning while waiting for the bus in our old blue van. I remember a few teachers doing that my fifth grade teacher, very old school, read to us sung around the piano, its funny what I can remember from being a kid. I remember going on a trip in first grade to the Peabody Museum.
I remember a giant turtle fossil missing a foot. I was hooked on dinosaurs etc for a couple years. That and Star Wars. I also remember being bored or uninterested in most things going on the classrooms.

I was walking to work this morning, like I always do. I was walking on the sidewalk crossing a side road were they are doing construction. All of a sudden I realize this vechile was only a couple feet away from me trying to go down this side street. You m ight think the thought of turning into road pizza would ruin my day, but it didn't. I am pretty sure it was an MBNA construction type guy.
The worse thing that happened to me on Friday the 13th was I saw my Ex in the Walmart parkinglot (no big deal really). I am not much for superstitions, religions or stuff like that.
I played the Quake 3 mod Weapons Factory Arena this weekend. I played the darn thing for like 9-10 hours. There are multiple classes of players. Marine, Flamer, Cyborg, Nurse, Engineer etc.. I had alot of fun infecting and burning my enemies, with the nurse and the flamer. The marine has this very cool Hyperblaster, the cannoneer has a kickbutt chaingun/cannon. This mod is for the capture the flag (CTF) type game. You really need like 12-16 peo ple to play a decent game. I was playing on the barrysworld server yesterday.

Rant @Thursday, October 12, 2000 - 01:33:09 - tu
Just thought I would vent some thoughts on the debate.
Bush mixed up facts kill 3 or 2 (its all the same.)
And no we don't have troops in Hati. Granted Gore missed a few too. I was amazing at the proudness/attitude Bush showed when he talked those 3 (oopys 2) people who were going to be put to death. I dunno, I don't think a govonor can take alot of credit for something like that or at least be that proud of it. His attitude on it was very erie. He didn't go near the Mathew Shepard case when gore brought it up. I am glad Bush set the Gay thing strait. Keep it a secret at work and Marriage is only for god fearing christian types. I know Cheney freaked out way to many religous right types. I found it hard to beleive Bush could say with a strait face there is no such thing as global warming. Ozone holes, Open water on the North Pole, People in Chili cant go outside. Hello?? Bush try to side stepping the air quality and health care problems of Texas, Al didn't let it drop. The other thing he was doing the Buchanan thing. He said we should ony care about Europe and Oil Land and our Hemisphere. Screw Asia, Africa South America etc.. you not important. The other thing I thought was funny, Bush said was the price of a gun won't effect a kid buying it. Hello? Cheap guns, Kids aren't gonna be able to afford glocks or Desert Eagles. They are gonna buy the cheapest thing that can throw lead at someone else.
Oh by the way my heart didn't turn black from the internet (I didn't get it till four years later) .
It was the 4 years of social abuses sometimes called high school. The internet has
expanded my mind and my job skills.
I couldn't find in the transcript the Gore reference to the bible Mathew blah blah I think?

Another Bushism - A tough one - Why vote for Bush.
Bush made several attempts at a response.
First, he said, "Tell her to keep an open mind." Then he said,
"No, tell her governments don't create wealth."
Attempt No. 3: "Here's what I'd tell her - fella's got a pretty
good record and he's done in office what he said he would."
By then, Bush was visibly struggling, and tried to make light of it.
"I'm groping for the right answer, you can tell," he said good-naturedly.

I thought it was pretty funny when Jim said I think you could both go on about this for three or four more nights Gore jumped in and addlibbed I'm willing to do that. Even Jim Lehrer cracked up on that. That was about the only unscripted thing all night. On serious stuff, these guys have very differant ideas on several issues. Just finished Stranger in a Strangeland last night (around 1:30 uggh). It was a very strange book, alot more out their than many of Heinliens other books. It must be the 8 or 9th of his I have read. I enjoy his books for the sci fi aspect but also the human interaction. Real people in extrodinary situations. They are not heavy reading and thats not always a bad thing something light and quick to read. I really enjoyed the collection of short stories in a couple different books. I only have one more of his books left unread. I shall have to hit the used book stores
Whole bunch of Heinlein books I don't have.
