I was very surprised to get an e-mail friday evening.
It was from Congressmen Tom Allen
Back in January I Wrote my members of congress
about the high power navy sonar that seems to be killing whales.
This issue disturbed me enough to get off my butt and write.
I also mentioned it in my June archive.
I was rather surprised to hear back from anyone on the issue.
"I believe that we must proceed carefully with the LFA sonar, and
must ensure that all concerns regarding negative impacts on whales
and other marine mammals have been adequately addressed."
The letter goes on to state his contacting people in the National Marine
Fisheries Service about his concerns and they are holding discussion on it.
Concern, but not officially opposed to it.
I suppose thats better than not being heard at all.
If you just sit back and not even bothering to let someone
know how you feel on an issue your just wasting air.

I think its more about how non-inclusive and conservative Republicans are then about how it gives the balance of power to the Democrats. Don't get me wrong I will be grinning about this one for the next several days. I am thinking about the next supreme court nominees etc too.
BBC of course did execellent job covering Jeffords leaving the Republicans.

got the best hit of the day again. That very same tippmann even.
This time it was about 2 inches away from the last ones. The guys
got a few photos and even some video footage of the game. I think we had like 10 or 11 people play today. Alot of new people and alot of new guns. My to stingray did pretty well, the new one I got firday night broke a couple balls. I didn't have one ball break in mine. I only went through like 200 balls and 7 or 8 cartridges. We got some video footage. Lot of fun had by all, I took about as many hits as I gave. |

I was what you call an offense Engineer tonight. Just look at my
ping time too. The worse on my team and only 2 other guys with times
worse than mine. We had 2 engineers and the other team had our flag
stuck in the water. My sentry gun made quick work of chewing up
the lame spy and he would move theflag and it would still be in
that easily defended area. pretty funny really. I'm also the man who stayed up too late and played like 6 hours of Weapons Factory strait. We of course lost the 2 previous games. Man the cyborgs kept zapping everything. I dunno how I became team leader either? I switched to the losing team and did it. Not that it means anything in a wfa game. Lets see if I can move from my chair now. |

I tried my Stingray on sunday. I fired off about 60 rds and my wife about 30rds.
The adjustment I made to the velocity seemed to do the trick. It was crazy I
had a brass eagle paintball bounce off a tree and land near my feet. I would
not have wanted to have been hit by that one. I had one ball break, but that
was my fault. I tried to fire a ball after the cartridge had been emptied.
We were about 50 ft from our targets. I was able to hit 3 inch sapplings various
other stationary targets. The one very rotten tree had some dents in it from getting hit.
It is amazing how fast you can go through alot of paintballs.
My wife was surprised how quiet the gun was, she was worried it would be loud like my tater gun.
One of the guys at work let me know my gun was such a deal because
it was rebuilt by brass eagle because of some problem and sent back
and sold on clearence. Mine works fine and I haven't had any problems.
I would think it would have had a sticker or something on it saying Refuribished?

| I got tired
of the combat harness and the camos, it doesn't help much in game
and even in camos people are pretty easy to spot. Don't wear white
thats about the only rule I can think of. The gun carries 200 rd plenty for each game or more like 4-5 games. The CO2 cartridge does 30 shots I doubt I will need more than 1 spare cartridge. The neck strap keeps the gun close and I can sight it in very quickly too. The front grip is great sorta like a tippman. When we get the refill station I will get the 9 or 12 oz CO2 tank. I will have to buy a pallet of paintball probably. |

I was able to try out my paintgun last night. I went through 3 cartridges and
the last one we counted 30 rounds. I thought the velocity was a little low, I
don't have alot to go by. It was pretty accurate and not too loud. I can see
how easy it would be to spray alot of paint with a semi-auto. I may get a 12oz
tank if one of the guys does get a refill station. I stripped down the gun last
night and increased the velocity just slightly. The gun is very simple to take
apart and I used a bit of gun oil on the bolt etc.. I still can't figuire out
what this spring on the velocity adjust is for, I didn't put it back on the gun.
We are looking to have games on both the 19th and the 20th.

Did the weight lifting thing with some of the guys at work. We will try to
do this three times a week. I tried out my paintball gun. It didn't work
correctly it bled of the first CO2 cartridge right away. I seem to be missing
the O-ring on the CO2 adaptor, I dunno where it went. I will pick up some
at wally land went I can. I did get off 4 or 5 shots though, very cool.
I have been doing some web design its something I like but I wouldn't want
to do it full time. I should sleep pretty well from lifting all those weights.

Monster.com Server 63.112.168.250:27960 Ended playing the red team. I defaulted to engineer because of course no one else will. Not much on attacks no borgs and no more than 2 at a time in the flag room. In the last 2 minutes I switched to sniper just becuase we were ahead by 4 flags. I like popping off snipers, they get me alot but it keeps them busy and its fun taking head shots. 1 gunner 1 engineer can keep off a poor team work from the other side. They kept sending in recon flyers right away so I would mango them to the floor when I could at the very begining of a level. |

This gun looks pretty bad ass. I like the idea it can use both the 12gram carts
or the CO2 tank if I want to. PBReview had a mixed bag of reviews but they are better than the Blade guns I was using. I didn't mind the blades, but I wouldn't want to go up against some 500 dollar gun with one. It's not like I am playing every weekend or anything yet.

Playing WFA when the phoneline/intenet/servers co-operate.
They get better the later at night it is. The last game
ended overtime 10 minutes a tie. It was just 2 on 2 then
at the end there was 8-9 players. Doing engineer duty like

but deadlier. The repair button is gone, now you use your

Reports have recently appeared on the internet
claiming that the Parkes telescope has detected a SETI signal.
(SETI is the Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence).
No such detection has ever been made at Parkes,
and no member of the Observatory staff played any
part in the circulation of this fictitious story.
It appears the story originated in Geneva as
part of a publicity stunt engineered by two students
presenting a SETI project as part of the "Week of Science" festival.
