So this is going to be one of those whiny blog type posts.

I have been playing the Tabula Rasa MMORPG beta for 5-6 weeks. On 9/6 they patched the beta and one of the things that they added was a long string of quests some into instances to unlock travel to the second planet. I'm used to WoW other MMOs, you can take your level 5 to any area you want, you will most likely get killed in the process, but that is your choice. Having to do a series of quests to continue world travel seems pretty ridiculous to me. The thing is I am pretty random at doing quests, I like to "grind" a term used to describe killing NPCs (Monsters etc..) and do a few quests here and there. Side note, I really don't like the term grinding, if it feels like grinding that would be unpleasant, gaming should be fun, killing is a better term. Anyway I am killing everything in Tabula Rasa and having a blast. So over the weekend I hit level level 27, but the problem is I am stuck in a level 15-20 area, with no chance of going to a 20-30 level area without doing a series of long quests. I ended up attempting some of the quests and I ran into some bugs and various problems. So I quit. I've decided to drop out of the beta and I don't plan on getting the retail when it comes out. I've quit other games for similar issues before, but not before they actually come out.
The only other issue I've had with the beta was the steep graphical requirements. I have a Nvidia 7600 and was getting 20-25 fps out of it. During events with lots of action and NPCs it would drop down to 12-15 and occasionally 5-6fps even on a lower setting like 1024x768.
