U.S. Troops Kill 7 Iraqi Women, Kids
The Pentagon has confirmed that U.S. troops killed seven Iraqi women
and children at a checkpoint when their van would not stop as ordered.

Damn this is bad, really bad. They are going to have to turn back
all the new suicide bombers that will want to blow themselves up in Iraq.

The Apaches destroyed only 10 to 15 Iraqi armored vehicles.
American military commanders say they are rethinking their
helicopter tactics as a result of the events of the past 24 hours.

Officials say the Iraqis have drawn a red line on the map around
Baghdad, and once American troops cross it, the Republican guards
are authorized to use chemical weapons.

Sounds about right. Gonna be a bloody battle.

Michael Moore booed as he slams Iraq war at Oscars

Moore adds fireworks to dull Oscars

Moore Follows Oscar Win With More Comments Backstage

"We like non-fiction," Moore said of documentary-makers, "and we live in fictitious times.
We live in a time when we have fictitious election results that elect a fictitious president."

About this point, the boos started to drown out the cheers. Moore continued:

"We live in a time where we have a man sending us to war for fictitious reasons,
whether it's the fictition of duct tape or the fictition of orange alerts.
We are against this war, Mr. Bush! (Cue orchestra.)
Shame on you, Mr. Bush, shame on you!
And any time you've got the pope and the Dixie Chicks against you, your time is up."

Asked backstage why he made the remarks, Moore answered: "I'm an American."
"Is that all?" a reporter asked.
"Oh, that's a lot," Moore responded.

"I am an American, and you don't leave your citizenship when you enter the doors
of the Kodak Theatre. What's great about this country is you're able to speak your
mind, and that's what I do," Moore insists. "I don't stop being who I am when I
come into this ceremony."

He said the Iraqi conflict sends a negative image to the nation's youth.
"What was the lesson that we taught children of Columbine this week? ...
That violence is an acceptable means to resolve a conflict," Moore said backstage.

Moore dismissed the jeers, telling reporters: "Don't report that there was
split decision in the hall because five loud people booed."

"I say tonight I put America in a good light," he said praising the decision
to push ahead with the Oscars despite the war raging in the Middle East.

"I showed how vital it is to have free speech in our country and all Americans
have the right to stand up for what they believe in," he said

Moore said he saw "the entire place stand up and applaud." Moore said "five loud people booed,"
whom he joked were his family and friends. He said he asked them to boo because "Hollywood
has such a bad rap of being monolithic in their politics, like they're all a bunch of left-wing
Democrats out here."

'Liberated' Iraqis Question U.S. Motives
Rather than affection and appreciation, I saw a lot of hostility toward
the coalition forces, the United States and President Bush.

Why are you here in this country? Are you trying to take over?
Are you going to take our country forever? Are the Israelis coming next?
Are you here to steal our oil? When are you going to get out?

War is a graphic and disturbing thing. The fact that people want to block
us from seeing it is sad in itself. War is a serious thing with serious results.
If we are grown up enough to go to war, we should be able to see the results.

Phone bugs found in EU offices
Telephone bugs have been found in EU offices used by the British, French and German
delegations, it was revealed today. Three more, so far unidentified, delegations have
also been the victims of wire-tapping.

The discovery comes two weeks after the Observer revealed that the US had been
bugging security council members Angola, Cameroon, Chile, Bulgaria, Guinea and Pakistan.

Wiretapping Found at French, German, UK EU Offices
The wiretapping devices, found in a routine security sweep on February 28, were attached
to phone lines to delegation suites used regularly by national leaders, ministers and senior
officials attending EU meetings.
The countries targeted were France, Germany, Britain, Italy, Spain and Austria, the officials said.

Daschle says Bush has failed `miserably'' in diplomacy, forcing America to war
"I'm saddened, saddened that this president failed so
miserably at diplomacy that we're now forced to war,"

Daschle under fire for Iraq comments
Daschle said he was "saddened that we have to give up one life because this
president couldnt create the kind of diplomatic effort that was so critical for our country.

I think he is just speaking out of fustration, its like we went through the motions but screwed
it up everytime we could. We gonna make em show us their cards. We were asked to muzzle
Rumsfeld. I myself blame Rumsfeld andn Cheney for for alot of it, Bush for screwing up relations
