Top Senator Backs Amendment Banning Gay Marriage
The Republican leader of the U.S. Senate said on Sunday he
supported a constitutional amendment that would ban gay marriage.Frist backs constitutional ban on gay marriage
Rep. Marilyn Musgrave, R-Colo., was the main sponsor of the proposal offered
May 21 to amend the Constitution. It was referred to the House Judiciary
subcommittee on the Constitution on Wednesday, the day before the high court ruled.
As drafted, the proposal says:
"Marriage in the United States shall consist only of the union of a man and a woman.
Neither this Constitution nor the constitution of any state under state or federal
law shall be construed to require that marital status or the legal incidents thereof
be conferred upon unmarried couples or groups."
To be added to the Constitution, the proposal must be approved by two-thirds of
the House and the Senate and ratified by three-fourths of the states.
I really hope republican try to push this one. They will show just what kind of
homophobic backwards christian fundies they are.
I dunno if anyone else has seen the new Ren and Stimpy. They aren't a kids show anymore.

canoeing and swimming. The water was a bit cold but we still had fun.Went to the store and picked up a new pair of Labtec Stereo Headphones with a mic.
The one I use with teamspeak only has one earphone. I got around to getting Road to
Rome the Battlefield 1942 addon. It's not a big addon, but the maps in it are alot of fun.
They had some FX5200 and FX5200 ultras there too. I am seriously considering getting
one of those with 128megs of DDR and TV/out and a Fan based Heatsink. I never try
to pay more than 100-140 dollars for a video card.

A U.S. soldier was killed and four companions wounded Saturday near Tikrit.
It was at least the seventh U.S. soldier killed in attacks in Iraq over the past two weeks.
Earlier, a U.S. Navy Seabee was killed and another injured in an explosion close to a barracks
in al Kut on Friday.On Friday, one U.S. soldier died and two were wounded in a road accident

"Our conservative estimate is that Iraq today has a stockpile of between 100 and 500
tons of chemical weapons agent," Powell said at the United Nations in February.
In a paper released in October, U.S. intelligence agencies said that Iraq had begun
"renewed production of chemical warfare agents," probably including mustard, sarin, cyclosarin and VX.
Powell also had told the United Nations that "numerous intelligence reports over the
past decade from sources inside Iraq" indicated "a covert force of up to a few dozen
Scud-variant ballistic missiles." None has been found.

A soldier injured four civilians when he accidentally fired his machine gun as he
was picking it up. The victims, who were struck in the legs, were evacuated. DumbassUnidentified assailants fired rocket-propelled grenades and small arms at a U.S. patrol
near an air base west of Baghdad on Friday.
The firefight in the town of Khaldiya, 45 miles west of Baghdad, is the latest
