I Have my new Athlon Xp 1600+ up and running. I just got windows and all the
drivers installed. I learned you can't use an ultra dma66/100 cable on a older
hard driver. The onlly card in it is the PCI video card. The case is amazing
lots of room very solid and easy to use. About the only thing I could try
was the Flahspoint Benchmark. It was 388 for the K6 400mhz.
The new machine is 3157 and claims its a 1391.1 MHz machine.
I am sure I will have a geeky page up real soon now.

STScI-PR01-38 November 27, 2001
Astronomers using the orbiting Hubble Space Telescope have made the first
direct detection and chemical analysis of the atmosphere of a planet outside
our solar system. Their unique observations show it is possible to measure
the chemical makeup of extra-solar planetary atmospheres - and potentially
to search for chemical markers of life far beyond Earth.
The Jupiter-sized planet orbits a yellow, Sun-like star called HD 209458 that
lies 150 light-years away in the constellation Pegasus. Its atmospheric
composition was probed when the planet passed in front of its parent star,
allowing astronomers for the first time ever to see light from the star filtered
through the planet's atmosphere.

MARK RUSSELL: Ramadan dinner
President Bush obviously thought it necessary to hold a recent Ramadan dinner at the
White House commemorating the Islamic holy season. But whatever happened to
separation of mosque and state?
No, Laura Bush didn't wear a headscarf and there is no prayer rug in the Lincoln
bedroom, but the dinner was part of our recognition of peace-loving Islam. Not to
mention our fear of it.
Bush's 90 percent of the Arab-American vote last year had nothing to do with it.
An administration spokesperson said, "There is nothing political about the Ramadan dinner,
but remember it was the Democrats who locked Allah out of the classroom."

I hope everyone else had an enjoyable Turkey Time. I had a wonderful time down in
Connecticut. I got to see most of my relatives, we rode down in a monster van.
The van was big we were able to look down on SUVs. Much easier than taking 2 or
3 cars. I had been worrying about the coding on my page this weekend. After the big
crash I had so messed up code, but it was an open table and IE is much more forgiving
for bad or poor coding than most other programs. Now I have to make up for not
posting for so long. Damn I had the shakes from forced internet withdrawl.

I saw over 100 meteorites, I am not sure how many exactly. The video camera caught about 35 of them. I saw several very bright ones, one came strait down because it looked like a super bright star, then it burned out. I have put 2 of the most dramatic ones online. I also have another clip of serval smaller meteorites. There was alot of activity around 4:00 am then around 4:20 and then around 5:05 am. I also saw 2 satellites and possibly the ISS? There was some problems with the lights in the city but I was able to still enjoy the show. I was by myself and I wanted to share what I saw. Enjoy. |
