Aid Groups Pull Out of a Tense Baghdad
Iraq bombings set train ablaze, kills soldier; UN, aid groups flee Baghdad
The freight train was carrying military supplies near Fallujah west of Baghdad,
when an improvised bomb set four shipping containers ablaze. No casualties were
reported, but the attack sparked a looting frenzy by Iraqis who carried off
computers, tents, bottled water and other supplies.
200 area residents descended on the other cars to make off with whatever they could carry.
No U.S. forces came to the scene, but at one point the looters scattered when
two American helicopters whirred in for a look. At another point, Iraqis backed
trucks up to the bombed train to offload goods.
