there was a byopvr user who had a similiar issue and in his case it turned out to be ground loops...

I don't have any sane advice to offer though... =P

Yeah good guess.
I am getting those evil black and white banding lines on my S-video from my computer to my TV. The TV card doesn't have the problem when recording.
Going to try a fancy Acoustic Research sheilded S-video cable and a different Video Card.
I probably need an electrician.
