Generally there is few type of tanks
Armor
- Rep tank
for pvp usually 2x reps + resist mods ( rep rigs)
and (or) damage mods) cap booster is a must for pve 1/2 reps resist
mods and cap moods idea is to keep your cap stable so u could run
everything 24/7
HP Tank
works wery well for pvp, no point for pve - large armor
plates/ armor amount rigs/ resitence stuff, cap booster usually just to
keep gns going
Shield Tank - best for pve
Active - usually goes with shield booster, shield resist mods and power diagnostic systems in low
Passive - goes with shield extenders and shield recharge mods
PVE setups dont include warp disruptors and, in most cases,
capacitor boosters.
So you have some spare midslots to fit what you
like. For pve fits the goal is to able to maintain your tank until all
rats are killed.
PVP tank setups differ from pve, cause usually you have to fit it
for tanking as much damage as possible for a short period of time.
You
do this by increasing hp buffer (putting armor plates or shield
extenders) or hp regenerating amount (putting shield boosters or armor
repairers).
